Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison seeks an HR Business Partner to support faculty lifecycle management, recruitment, onboarding, sabbaticals, leaves, and tenure clocks for the College of Computing & Artificial Intelligence. You will guide departments, coordinate complex processes, and ensure accurate personnel actions while navigating policies with professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing full lifecycle HR processes (recruitment, performance, leaves).
• Proficiency with HR information systems and record-keeping tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies with sound judgment.
• Commitment to continuous process improvement and employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to strategic plans and guides staff implementation of HR initiatives.
• Acts as a consultative HR liaison, interpreting policies for leadership and staff.
• Develops procedures for HR functions such as training, recruitment, and payroll.
• Facilitates complex transactions and programs per policy guidelines.
• Responds to inquiries in person, by email, and via multiple communication channels.
• Audits HR reports to ensure policy compliance.
