Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Human Resources Manager for the Intercollegiate Athletics Department. This strategic HR leadership role partners with sports programs and leadership to drive recruitment from position development through onboarding, ensuring an efficient and positive candidate experience.

You will design and implement HR processes, lead onboarding, performance management and development planning, supervise an HR Business Partner, and help shape workforce

Qualifications

• A minimum of four years of professional Human Resources experience
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, follow through on tasks and work with limited oversight
• Experience in recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
• Experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and improving HR-related processes
• The successful applicant must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions
• Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to work independently and in a team setting to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Experience developing reports and analytics using various systems and software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
• Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy
• Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
• Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies
• Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes
