Job summary

Mid States Distributing LLC is seeking an HR Manager to lead the site’s HR agenda at the Lees Summit DC. You will oversee employee relations, workforce planning, compliance, safety partnership, and culture as part of the facility leadership team.

You will drive talent strategies, manage key HR metrics, and partner with operations to optimize labor costs. The role requires strong labor law knowledge and experience with hourly workforces in a distribution setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of progressive HR experience in hourly-workforce environments.
• Ability to own complex employee relations matters and investigations with minimal oversight.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, NLRA fundamentals, OSHA).
• Experience using workforce data and metrics to drive decisions.
• Proficiency with an HRIS/payroll platform and Excel-based analysis.

Responsibilities

• Strategic HR Leadership: Serve on the facility leadership team and own site HR metrics.
• Employee Relations & Risk Management: Manage employee relations, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Talent & Workforce Planning: Lead hiring and workforce planning for salaried and leadership roles.
• Compliance & Policy: Administer leaves, updates to policies, and ensure audit-ready documentation.
• HR Operations & Team Direction: Coordinate payroll liaison, HRIS data, and open enrollment.
• Safety & Workers’ Compensation: Support claims, return-to-work, and safety culture.
