Job summary

Brigham Young University in Provo seeks an experienced Human Resources Business Partner/Financial Operations Specialist for the Religious Education division. You will partner with college leadership, manage HR processes, and support financial operations including budgeting, accounts payable, and grants management.

• Build trusted relationships with college leadership, department chairs, directors, managers, and employees.
• Serve as a liaison between assigned college areas and central Human Resources, addressing HR needs and resolving complex issues.
• Provide consultative guidance and coaching on HR matters, including compensation, recruitment, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, university policies, and HR procedures.
• Analyze HR data, including turnover, workforce trends, and talent metrics, to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
• Coordinate and support core HR operations, including recruiting, compensation changes, employee records, benefits, payroll reporting, and organizational changes.
• Communicate HR policies, programs, and initiatives; provide training and support to college leaders and employees on HR processes and best practices.
• Processes and reviews expense transactions, including expense reports, requisitions, receipts, and purchasing card activities.
• Supports financial accounting, budgeting, and planning by processing journal entries, adjustments, and budget transactions.
• Processes accounts payable and receivable transactions, including supplier and customer invoices and manual checks.
• Resolves financial discrepancies and vendor or customer inquiries, and assists with cash and check deposits and reconciliation.
