Job summary

Utah County Government is seeking a strategic Human Resources Director (appointed) to provide executive HR leadership, payroll, and benefits administration for about 1,200 employees. You will act as a trusted advisor to elected officials and department heads, ensuring compliance with employment laws and safety regulations.

This role reports to the County Commission, driving talent management, workforce planning, and organizational change to support high service levels and accountability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required for the role.
• Minimum seven years of progressive HR experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Professional HR certification or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Direct talent management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, workforce planning.
• Navigate employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions, and separations.
• Drive organizational change, culture, and customer service excellence.
• Provide guidance to executive leadership with diplomacy and strategic insight.
