Jewish Family Service LA (JFSLA) in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Director of Human Resources to lead strategic HR operations, compliance, and advisory support for executives and managers across a multi-site nonprofit environment.

The role requires a seasoned HR leader with strong California employment law knowledge, labor relations experience, and the ability to manage complex programs while driving efficiency and accountability.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or comparable senior HR certification preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive HR or social services experience.
• 3+ years of HR leadership or management experience.
• Expertise in California employment law and HR compliance.
• Experience in complex multi-site nonprofit or healthcare settings.
• Labor relations and collective bargaining experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead day-to-day HR operations ensuring accurate, timely service across the agency.
• Translate priorities into HR processes with clear work plans and deliverables.
• Identify operational HR risks and implement proactive solutions.
• Establish systems and controls to ensure work is completed on time.
• Manage complex HR projects from assessment to implementation.
• Recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accountability, and compliance.
• Resolve issues with sound judgment and escalate significant risks as needed.
• Provide HR guidance to executives and managers on employee relations and policies.
• Oversee vendor relationships for benefits, leaves, and ADP integration.
• Oversee talent acquisition to fill positions per agency standards.
• Ensure data integrity in HR systems and produce relevant reports.
• Support performance management and organizational effectiveness.
• Assist with labor relations and contract administration.
• Lead HR staff with clear direction and accountability.
