Job summary

Multi Entity Professional Organization is seeking an experienced HR Director to build and formalize its HR function across multiple sites in Nassau County, NY. This on-site leadership role requires strong knowledge of NY employment law, employee relations, benefits, and HR operations to scale the organization.

You will implement scalable processes, advise leadership, manage onboarding, transfers, timekeeping, and support recruiting during growth while ensuring compliance and a positive employee

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of progressive HR experience in a multi-site or multi-entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of New York employment law, including compliance requirements.
• Experience building or formalizing HR processes within a growing organization.
• Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, or legal entities.
• Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with benefits administration and open enrollment.
• Ability to work with hourly, salaried, part-time, per diem, and professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Build and formalize a comprehensive HR function within a rapidly growing, multi-entity organization.
• Develop and implement scalable HR processes, policies, procedures, and employee resources.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on New York employment laws and regulations, including FMLA and Paid Family Leave.
• Assess complex HR matters and determine when to engage external resources (legal, insurance, brokers).
• Lead benefits administration, including open enrollment planning and communications.
• Drive proactive employee relations initiatives, including performance management and policy enforcement.
• Support HR operations across 10+ locations and multiple legal entities.
• Oversee onboarding, transfers, timekeeping, and workforce administration.
