Job summary

Healthcare Organization in Melville, NY is seeking a Human Resources Director to build and scale a centralized HR function across multiple sites. You will partner with leadership to formalize HR processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage employee relations in a high-growth environment.

The role requires 5+ years in HR with multi-entity experience, deep knowledge of NY labor laws, and proven ability to lead benefits open enrollment and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR generalist or management experience, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-site environment (10+ locations preferred).
• Domain expertise: success building or formalizing HR infrastructure, processes, and policies in a fast-growing company.
• Legal & regulatory: deep understanding of NY state and federal labor laws, FMLA, Paid Family Leave, and general HR compliance.
• Workforce adaptability: experience supporting mixed workforce (hourly, exempt, per diem, healthcare professionals) across complex compensation structures.
• Benefits & vendors: experience leading benefits open enrollment and managing relationships with external counsel, brokers, and carriers.
• Skills & mindset: strong problem-solving, exceptional communication, proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR department building and scaling across multiple locations.
• Ensure compliance with NY and federal laws, oversee workforce administration and risk management across 10+ locations.
• Manage employee relations, performance management, documentation, and policy enforcement.
• Oversee benefits administration, open enrollment, broker management, and communications with stakeholders.
