Job summary

Wissahickon Charter School seeks an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead recruitment, talent strategy, and employee relations across its campuses. Reporting to the CEO, this role oversees HR operations and collaborates with Vertex, the external HR partner, to ensure compliant, thoughtful processes.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong communication skills, able to build pipelines for qualified educators and staff, and to foster a caring, inclusive workplace

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR and talent acquisition experience.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in HR, Education, Organizational Leadership, or related field preferred.
• Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to craft HR documents and job descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of recruitment and hiring across the organization.
• Develop candidate pipelines with universities, educator programs, and community organizations.
• Collaborate with school leaders and CEO to ensure timely, strategic, and equitable hiring.
• Coordinate with Vertex on HR operations, compliance, and documentation support.
• Oversee onboarding, records, clearances, and personnel files with Vertex support.
• Support employee relations, performance issues, and workplace culture development.
• Partner with CEO and leadership to shape compensation and benefits discussions.
