The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) invites an Associate Counsel to join our legal team in Alexandria, VA, with remote options. You will provide day-to-day legal guidance on HR, employment, and benefits, draft and review contracts, and support compliance and strategic initiatives across ASCO programs.

Formación

• JD and active Bar membership in good standing.
• 3-5 years' experience advising clients on HR, employment, and employee benefits matters.
• Transactional, corporate, or other business-related legal experience.
• Ability to review and interpret legal and contractual obligations.
• Contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and research experience.

Responsabilidades

• In cooperation with ASCO's General Counsel, serve as the primary attorney for HR-related transactional and regulatory matters, including review of vendor contracts, maintenance of the employee handbook, and guidance on employee benefits and 401(k) programs.
• With oversight from senior attorneys, serve as legal support for business and contract negotiations relating to several ASCO departments and programs.
• Collaborate with internal clients to provide legal guidance on programs and strategic initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for ASCO programs, including supporting the international expansion of select programs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate content licensing, ASCO Advantage, Best of ASCO, ASCO Direct, and hotel/meeting contracts to allow for expanding capacity and prompt turnaround time.
• Perform legal research, analysis, and writing on various topics, including employment, employee benefits and compliance with applicable federal and state employment and employee benefits laws.
• Prepare memoranda summarizing legal analyses and present findings to internal clients and departmental leadership.
• Maintain key client relationships with designated departments and staff.
