American Society of Clinical Oncology, Inc. seeks a Chief Advocacy Officer to lead policy priorities and mobilize a nationwide cancer care advocacy effort from its Alexandria, VA headquarters.

This hybrid role requires strategic vision, bipartisan collaboration, and mentorship of a growing advocacy team. You will shape state and federal strategies, manage budgets, engage policymakers and coalitions, and represent ASCO at committee meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 15+ years in policy, grassroots organizing, coalitions, or advocacy.
• Experience as a legislative advocate in Congress or a state legislature.
• Strong collaboration, budget management, and board interaction experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to set advocacy strategy and priorities.
• Lead state and federal legislative efforts and grassroots activities.
• Manage staff, budget, and external consultants to achieve goals.
• Build relationships with policymakers and allied organizations.
• Present at ASCO meetings and committee sessions to inform stakeholders.
