Job summary

Domtar in Rothschild, Wisconsin, is seeking an HR Manager to lead the mill’s human resources functions and serve as a business partner to the leadership team. This full‑time role collaborates with the General Manager and applies strategic and hands‑on HR support to leaders, employees and union partners.

The position requires strong change leadership, labor relations experience, and a track record of developing talent and aligning HR initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing environments; non‑union with union experience a plus.
• Strong change management skills; coaching managers and employees for skill building.
• Experience in labor relations and performance management.
• Advanced proficiencies in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR business partner to Mill leadership and General Manager.
• Lead labor relations, including negotiations, grievances, and collective bargaining in partnership with leaders.
• Drive talent management, succession planning and recruitment to build bench strength.
• Administer compensation programs and maintain affirmative action and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and maintain HRIS data.
