Terracon in Olathe, KS is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to act as a proactive, strategic partner to a client group, delivering tailored HR strategies, strengthening employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and state and federal law.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or related field) and minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience as a generalist, with exposure to specialties such as compensation, recruitment, and benefits
• Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum 12 years of related experience
• Ability to build and maintain effective ongoing relationships across all organizational levels
• Track record of building credibility as a trusted advisor, with the ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Knowledge of current HR processes, practices, and employment laws related to employee relations, performance management, change management, recruiting, compensation, and benefits
• Business acumen or ability to quickly acquire business knowledge
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required
• Overnight travel of 10–20% to offices may be required

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and monitor customized HR solutions and strategies aligned with client group’s strategy.
• Coach managers and leaders on HR and business issues; partner with senior leadership to develop the next generation of leaders.
• Consult with the client group across compensation, benefits, staffing, organizational development, employee relations, and performance management.
• Coach, mentor, and train Regional HR employees within the assigned operating group.
• Support employee engagement by diagnosing issues and creating action plans.
• Advise management on employee relations, conduct investigations, and solve complex problems.
• Interpret policies, ensure compliance with key legal requirements, and adhere to company policies.
• Identify HR-related performance indicators and create action plans to meet objectives.
• Serve as liaison between client group and HR functions; coordinate processes like merit, bonuses, goals, performance evaluations, training, succession planning, and discipline.
• Provide leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, diversity, and organizational development as assigned.
• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning; report safety concerns.
