Job summary

University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner II (HRBP II) to support the Office of Human Resources in Amherst. The role focuses on aligning HR processes with unit goals, providing guidance on policies, and facilitating recruitment, leave administration, and performance management.

The HRBP II will partner with managers to develop job descriptions, interpret policies, and ensure compliance with FLSA and ADA while supporting absence and accommodation needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of human resources experience.
• Experience supporting employee and/or labor relations matters with guidance.
• Experience applying discretion and fairness in addressing employee concerns and workplace issues.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates HR processes and alignment with business goals for assigned units.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and best practices to managers.
• Develop and refine job descriptions; ensure compliance with FLSA and ADA.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment planning and execution.
• Address accommodation and absence needs with the Absence Support Team and manage leave processes.
• Support performance management, and assist with employee relations and labor relations matters.
• Develop advanced HR reports and conduct data analyses to inform decisions.
• Assist in training programs and employee development initiatives.
• Collaborate with campus departments to improve HR processes and coordinate efforts.
