Job summary

Essex County Council is supporting Epping Forest District Council to recruit an experienced Policy & Performance Officer to join the Property & Housing Services team on an initial 6-month contract. The role will lead on developing a Local Supported Housing Strategy and ensure compliance with the 2023 Act.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to transform data into policy recommendations and strengthen performance management.

Qualifications

• Experience in policy development, strategy and research.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting housing data and trends.
• Proven ability to translate evidence into practical policy recommendations.
• Experience supporting governance, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Local Supported Housing Strategy in line with legislation.
• Conduct research and needs analysis on housing supply, demand and demographics.
• Develop evidence-based policy recommendations to inform decision-making.
• Consult with tenants, residents and partner agencies to reflect local needs.
• Coordinate reviews of housing policies ensuring compliance with changes in legislation.
