Job summary

University of Massachusetts Boston seeks a Health Professions Coordinator to provide strategic leadership and university-wide support for undergraduate students and alumni pursuing health professions.

Based in the College of Science and Mathematics, this role leads programming, mentoring, and pathways development to increase access and successful progression into health fields including medicine, nursing, dentistry, and public health.

Qualifications

• PhD in a Life Sciences discipline, preferably with some pre-health focus.
• Nine years of relevant experience in higher education, student advising, academic program development, health professions preparation, or a closely related area.
• Teaching experience in a classroom setting with demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific, academic, or professional preparation concepts to undergraduate students.
• Ability to work with faculty and advising units across colleges to coordinate student support, align pathway expectations, and advance shared student success goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as university-wide lead for undergraduate and alumni health professions pathways, coordinating across colleges and units.
• Design and assess comprehensive pathway models integrating academic prep, experiential learning, mentoring and professional development.
• Develop scalable programming for students at different readiness levels with equity and measurable outcomes.
• Provide structured advising processes, tools and resources to streamline health careers applications.
