Job summary

UMass Boston is seeking a Health Professions Coordinator to provide strategic leadership and university-wide support for undergraduates and alumni pursuing health careers. Based in the College of Science and Mathematics, the role leads inclusive, interdisciplinary pathways and reports to the Dean.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences, preferably with pre-health focus.
• Nine years of relevant higher education experience in advising, academic program development, health professions preparation, or related area.
• Teaching experience and ability to communicate complex concepts to undergraduates.
• Ability to work with faculty and advising units across colleges to coordinate student support and advance shared goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for undergraduate and alumni health professions pathways across five colleges.
• Design, implement, and assess pathway models integrating academic prep, experiential learning, mentoring, and professional development.
• Develop scalable programs for students at varying readiness levels with emphasis on equity, access, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with faculty, student success units, and partners to ensure coordinated services and informed participation.
