Job summary

The RAND Corporation, a nonprofit research organization, seeks a Health Division Vice President for a 5-year term in the Washington, D.C. area.

The role leads Health Division activities, oversees a diverse research portfolio, and reports to the Senior Vice President and Chief Research Officer. Responsibilities include strategic planning, talent development, business development with sponsors, and representing RAND as a policy spokesperson.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field; Ph.D. or M.D. preferred.
• 10+ years of policy development or policy analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for Health Division activities, with accountability for research quality, business development, talent, and organizational performance
• Lead the division's management team, including the associate division director, program directors, quality assurance, and operations leaders
• Develop and execute the division's strategic plan, including research priorities, business strategy, staffing plans, and talent development
• Oversee the division's research portfolio spanning health care financing and organization, health services and outcomes, and population health, ensuring methodological rigor and alignment with RAND's broader strategic objectives
• Build and sustain strategic relationships with government agencies, foundations, health systems, and other organizations as sponsors and partners
• Collaborate with RAND research division leaders and departments to strengthen business development, expand policy impact, and support research staff management and development
• Represent RAND as a principal spokesperson on health and health care policy to senior officials and other key stakeholders
