Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Hardware Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead supplier selection, cost management and lifecycle oversight for critical parts. You will partner with Hardware Engineering, PM, and Quality to ensure on-time delivery, quality and cost targets across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, SCM or Engineering
• 5–7 years in high-volume manufacturing or sourcing
• 5–7 years direct supplier/supply chain management
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in consumer electronics
• Familiar with world-class sourcing methods and tools
• Strong analytical skills (cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)

Responsibilities

• Develop and own supplier sourcing strategies and roadmaps.
• Evaluate suppliers, manage RFQ, and select partners with Product/Engineering.
• Negotiate agreements for pricing, quality, delivery, and terms.
• Create contingency plans to de-risk supply challenges.
• Lead ramp plans, production forecasts, and tooling life for designated suppliers.
• Influence supplier technology roadmaps and drive value add.
