Job summary

Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia seeks a dynamic Chief Strategy Advancement Officer to lead strategic initiatives, drive sustainable growth, and expand philanthropic support for FLPF and the Library.

This executive role partners with the CEO and senior leadership to set priorities, mentor the Advancement team of about 10 staff, and oversee Individual Philanthropy, Institutional Giving, and Development Operations. Hybrid schedule; travel for events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of ten years in development/advancement, with five in senior leadership.
• Proven success in cultivating/soliciting major gifts at high levels.
• Deep knowledge of philanthropy trends locally and nationally.
• Executive functionality to move from planning to execution with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as thought-partner to the CEO on priorities, staffing, and revenue strategies.
• Develop and regularly update a diversified Development Plan with the CEO and Board.
• Oversee development plan execution and budget alignment for efficiency.
• Evaluate progress using agreed metrics and provide leadership to the team.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and manage donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Collaborate with leadership on prospect and donor management strategies.
• Liaise with the Board and Development Committee on fundraising goals.
• Prepare leadership to solicit gifts and support through cultivation.
• Cultivate major donors and uncover new leadership prospects.
• Develop a corporate sponsorship program aligned with campaigns and events.
• Enhance private foundation and governmental funding relationships.
• Provide regular reports on Advancement activities to leadership.
• Mentor Advancement staff and drive professional development.
• Work with Finance to ensure proper accounting for donations.
