First Place for Youth seeks a Chief Strategy and Expansion Officer in Los Angeles to drive national growth, secure public funding, and build strong partnerships. You will shape strategy with the CEO, lead a national team, and engage government officials to advance programs for transition-age foster youth.

The role requires senior leadership experience, policy acumen, and a track record in multi-state expansion and revenue growth. This is a high-impact, executive position at a national nonprofit.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s, JD, or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive senior leadership in child welfare, human services, or related field.
• 5+ years leading business development for a government-contracting organization.
• Strong knowledge of Title IV-E and workforce development funding streams.
• Experience on executive leadership teams managing multi-site operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive national expansion into new states and regions with data-driven strategy.
• Build strategic partnerships and secure public funding at state and county levels.
• Advance policy and advocacy, representing the organization on national boards.
• Lead and develop a national policy team and ensure cross-department collaboration.
• Define KPIs, report to leadership, and use data to adapt strategy.
