Job summary

Stark State College is seeking a highly skilled Grant Development professional to lead the College’s grant development efforts and support strategic initiatives across the institution. This role identifies funding opportunities, develops proposals, and builds partnerships to connect resources with priorities and community needs.

The position oversees grant activities from opportunity identification through award implementation, reporting, and compliance, serving as a key resource to faculty,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, Technical Writing, English, or related field.
• At least five years of professional writing experience, including three to five years in grant writing.
• Experience with public and private grant development, proposal preparation, grant administration.
• Familiarity with community colleges and their partnerships preferred.
• Experience with institutional planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the college’s annual grant development agenda aligned with institutional and community needs.
• Lead faculty and staff through grant development, including project design, research, writing, budgeting, timelines, and documentation.
• Oversee pre- and post-award activities with project managers and principal investigators on implementation and reporting.
• Prepare and submit grant applications and related materials while ensuring compliance with funder requirements and college policies.
• Serve as primary contact for grants portfolio and maintain relationships with funders and partners.
• Maintain accurate grant records, project files, reporting schedules, and grants office procedures.
• Lead continuous improvement of grants processes to strengthen efficiency and funding opportunities.
• Supervise the full-time grant writer and support Foundation and Advancement initiatives.
