Job summary

Flint Community Schools is seeking a Grant Coordinator to coordinate the planning, development, submission, monitoring, and evaluation of federal grants including Title I–IV. The role reports to the Chief Innovation Officer and supports successful grant-funded programs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of grant administration experience, with strong budgeting and regulatory knowledge. This is a on-site position within Flint, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of experience administering federal, state, or local grant programs.
• Experience with grant budgeting, compliance, reimbursement requests, and reports.
• Experience preparing grant applications, amendments, and required reports.
• Experience in public education or governmental grant administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, development, submission, amendment, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all federal grants.
• Research and recommend new grant funding opportunities aligning with district priorities.
• Coordinate districtwide grant planning with departments, Finance, and partners.
• Assist departments in developing grant applications and evaluation measures.
• Monitor grant-funded programs and recommend corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate grant budgets with Finance and advise on amendments.
• Review purchasing requests for grant compliance and advise on priorities.
• Coordinate procurement documentation with Finance for compliance.
• Coordinate districtwide grant monitoring, desk reviews, audits, and on-site monitoring by MDE and others.
• Maintain grant documentation, inventory, time and effort, and other compliance records.
• Develop grant timelines and monitor progress toward objectives.
• Provide technical assistance and professional learning on grant requirements and fiscal accountability.
• Prepare NexSys docs, MDE reports, and compliance submissions for CIO review.
• Monitor grant performance data and propose improvements to maximize funding.
• Collaborate with district departments to align programs with priorities.
