Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Grants Manager to lead proactive grant prospecting, write proposals, and steward donors through and after grant cycles. You will collaborate across the Association to compile reports and ensure grant success.

You will manage the grants calendar, coordinate with program and finance teams, position asks to maximize funding, and ensure strong donor relationships. Strong writing, editing, and CRM skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Social Science, or related field with 3+ years of grant writing experience.
• Strong writing and editing abilities; no generative AI usage.
• Experience soliciting government and foundation grants.
• Ability to manage multiple grants with various stakeholders across the Association.
• Experience with CRM software; Raiser's Edge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research prospective funders locally and nationally; align opportunities with core programs.
• Assess funders’ giving priorities and relationships to determine prospects.
• Develop, craft, and submit proposals, grant apps, and reports with stakeholders.
• Submit applications for public support funded by governmental entities.
• Strategize grant asks to maximize chances of funding.
• Proactively manage grants calendar and donor records.
• Coordinate with hubs and programs to support fundraising efforts.
• Lead grants pipeline, performance, and reporting meetings.
