Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Proposal & Grant Writer to translate youth and community program impact into compelling opportunities for investment. You will lead proposal and grant development across government, foundation, corporate, and other funding sources, while building a sustainable funding pipeline with leadership and program teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, institutional fundraising, or related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to understand budgets and connect them to strong program narratives.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Find funding opportunities and build a pipeline of grants, RFPs, renewals.
• Lead proposals from opportunity through submission, coordinating with program, finance, and leadership.
• Strengthen funder partnerships through renewals, reporting and communications.
