Job summary

The Ford Foundation in New York is seeking an Adaptive Philanthropy Program Officer to shape and steward the foundation's Adaptive Philanthropy grantmaking portfolio, focusing on infrastructure, field strengthening, and innovation in the U.S. and globally.

You will partner with the CINO to develop strategy, manage the full grants lifecycle from planning to reporting, support grantees with guidance and risk assessment, and help the field achieve greater impact through convenings and strategic

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10+ years of work experience in philanthropy with deep expertise in multiyear flexible funding, equitable partnerships, and global social sector trends.
• Proven ability to develop and implement complex strategies with strong data analysis.
• Organized leader who communicates across diverse audiences to drive goals.

Responsibilities

• Grantmaking Partner with the CINO and stakeholders to develop and implement Adaptive Philanthropy strategy using grants, TA, and convenings.
• Manage full grants portfolio lifecycle from planning and site visits to financial and narrative review.
• Support grantees with outcomes guidance, risk assessment, and access to networks.
• Lead convenings, monitor progress, ensure compliance, and report impact to leadership.
• Coordinate across offices and programs to align funder engagement and thought leadership.
