Job summary

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, College of Veterinary Medicine Finance Team seeks a finance partner for the Department of Biomedical Science (VBS). You will manage post-award financials, budgets, and forecasting, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting across sponsored and non-sponsored programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating with SPA/SFR, delivering regular financial analyses, and advising PIs and leadership on budget strategy. Remote work with in-person meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in finances, business administration, accounting or related field plus four years of professional financial management experience or equivalent
• Experience working with grants
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply complex institutional, state, and federal financial policies
• Interpersonal and communication skills to advise faculty, researchers and executive leadership on complex financial strategies

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-award financial management for external and internal awards, including reconciliation, cost allocations and compliance auditing
• Collaborate with pre-award staff during proposal development to establish budgets and ensure smooth transition to post-award
• Coordinate with SPA and SFR for financial reporting, amendments and close-outs
• Prepare monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports and forecasts for proactive award management
