Job summary

Denton County MHMR Center, based in Denton, TX, seeks a Business Financial Analyst to support the CFO with complex financial analysis, cost reporting, and financial management oversight. You will provide critical information to executives to guide strategic decisions and ensure compliance with HHSC and local regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience, with preference for governmental and nonprofit finance knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field required.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, cost reporting, governmental finance, nonprofit finance, or a related field required.
• Experience with governmental funding requirements and cost allocation methodologies preferred.
• Experience with state or federal grants and contracts preferred.
• Experience with financial audits and governmental monitoring reviews preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed financial analysis of revenues, expenditures, program costs, staffing costs, and operational activities.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and executive leadership.
• Analyzes actual financial results compared to budgets and prior-period results, and identifies variances.
• Develops financial schedules, spreadsheets, and analytical tools to support decision-making.
• Assists in developing financial projections, forecasts, and long-range financial models.
• Prepares, reviews, and analyzes cost reports required by governmental agencies, funding sources, and contracts.
• Maintains and applies approved cost allocation methodologies and reconciles cost reports to the general ledger.
• Assists with audits and monitoring reviews by governmental agencies and independent auditors.
