Job summary

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Manager, Government Affairs to shape legislative strategy, advocate for Colorado's business community and build coalitions with elected officials and leaders.

You will lead policy discussions, mentor team members, and guide initiatives that strengthen Colorado's economic future while partnering with the Vice President of External Affairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the state and local legislative process and public policy development.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and influence through collaboration.
• Experience facilitating committees, member engagement, coalitions, cross-functional initiatives, and grassroots or advocacy campaigns.
• Experience with strategic communications and translating complex policy issues into persuasive communications.
• Exceptional organization, judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for serving Colorado's business community.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Chamber leadership to develop policy priorities at the state and local level, analyze public policy issues and advocate for solutions that strengthen Colorado's business community.
• Build trusted relationships with business leaders, elected officials, community organizations and strategic partners while facilitating collaboration around shared policy goals.
• Lead policy committees, member forums and stakeholder discussions that educate, engage and activate Chamber members.
• Drive complex projects that strengthen the Chamber's advocacy efforts, member experience and long-term organizational impact.
• Partner with the Vice President of External Affairs to strengthen departmental operations while mentoring teammates, supporting key initiatives and helping ensure the team delivers exceptional results.
