Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Policy Manager to lead state and local government affairs in the Midwest. You will engage policymakers, shape strategies, and represent the company in industry coalitions, with a focus on ecommerce policy and labor/workforce issues.

The role requires 5+ years in government relations, strong relationships with policymakers, and a strategic, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of state or local government, policy or corporate government relations experience.
• Establish policymaker relationships and interact with elected officials and executives.
• Deep understanding of state and local lawmaking and regulatory processes.
• Strategic thinker with polished oral and written presentation skills.
• Thrives under pressure and balances long and short-term priorities.
• Resourceful and entrepreneurial with a bias towards action.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Collaborative and positive, can-do attitude.
• Experience with Slack is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with key policymakers and state/local stakeholders across the Midwest and central region, educating policymakers on our business and the ecommerce landscape.
• Craft and execute legislative, regulatory and political strategies with well-prepared hearings and testimony.
• Represent the company in regional trade associations and build coalitions with third-party allies.
• Develop policy solutions and advocacy campaigns with Policy Research and Development, legal partners and internal teams.
• Regularly educate cross-functional stakeholders on legislation and regulatory matters with weekly reports and budgeting of external consultants.
