Job summary

Starbucks is seeking a government affairs advisor to shape and execute strategy for the West region, with a focus on California. You will build relationships with policymakers, provide policy analysis, and advise across internal teams on regulatory actions to protect and grow the brand.

Based in Sacramento, you will travel regionally up to 40% and lead engagement with state and local officials, coordinating with federal and global teams to drive policy priorities forward.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience working in federal, state or local government affairs.
• Experience in Sacramento or the West region preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead engagement strategy for the West region with focus on California.
• Build relationships with elected officials and policy influencers.
• Provide thoughtful policy analysis and guidance to the business.
• Advise on regulatory actions and ensure cross-functional compliance.
• Coordinate with federal and global government affairs teams.
• Manage outside consultants as needed.
