Job summary

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is seeking a governance professional to bring clarity, momentum, and purpose to complex work across Board and committees. You will support Board-related processes, manage confidential projects, and partner with leaders, staff, and volunteers to turn priorities into action.

You will oversee governance, affiliate relations, international strategy, and volunteer engagement initiatives while supervising staff and ensuring high-quality, confidential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressive program or project coordination/management experience.
• Supervisory experience with the ability to provide direction, guidance, and oversight.
• Strong communication, writing, editing, organization, and relationship building skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of detailed work.

Responsibilities

• Support AAOS Board committees by preparing materials, timelines, minutes, reports, and follow-up items.
• Oversee confidential Board nominations process and related communications.
• Oversee international strategy, education programs, exhibits, and Annual Meeting activities.
• Manage budgets, tracking, forecasts, research, and special projects for assigned governance areas.
