Job summary

Rivian Automotive in Irvine, California, seeks a Lead Global Supply Manager to own strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and lifecycle management for multi-vehicle programs including R1, R2, R3, and EDV.

You will lead complex projects with significant spend, optimize risk mitigation, and negotiate terms with minimal legal involvement while driving cost targets and program health. This is an on-site role reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Supply Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience managing end-to-end procurement lifecycles and commodity strategies for next-gen platforms.
• Expert use of SAP and analytical tools; identify should-cost opportunities before cost estimation groups.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to facilitat e conversations and gain buy-in with a clear vision.
• Ability to resolve complex problems involving multiple variables and stakeholders; implement risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing: lead large projects with medium-high vehicle spend; drive competitive bid process and lead director-level communications.
• Systems & Process: act as expert user of supply chain systems; onboard and train new procurement system users.
• Technical Understanding: apply experience with battery systems to support next vehicle program; identify risks to maintain neutrality.
• Negotiations: negotiate most terms with limited legal involvement; use non-monetary tradeoffs to hit targets.
• Supplier Management: maintain strong relationships at supplier Senior Management level; resolve conflicts with minimal escalation.
• Stakeholder Management: build internal and external relationships; communicate information to mitigate risk.
• Project Management & Risk Mitigation: lead large-scale projects autonomously; map risks and see resolutions to completion.
