Job summary

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is seeking a Global Procurement Category Lead – Portfolio to develop and execute global category strategies across regions.

You will work with regional teams and cross‑functional leaders to optimize costs, reduce risk, and strengthen supplier relationships in a highly visible, matrixed organization. The role requires strategic leadership, 7+ years of procurement experience, and a track record in global category management and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of progressive procurement experience with global or regional category management responsibility.
• Proven experience developing and executing global procurement and category strategies.
• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across global, cross‑functional teams.
• Experience working within multinational, matrix organizations.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to translate market intelligence into strategic procurement decisions that deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a 3–5-year global category strategy aligned with corporate objectives and regional priorities.
• Lead global strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, RFX processes, negotiations, and contract management.
• Drive value through total cost of ownership analyses, supplier optimization, cost-reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation.
• Develop and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to improve supplier performance and partnerships.
• Provide market intelligence and industry trends to support sourcing decisions and planning.
• Partner with Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Business leaders to align strategies.
• Coach regional category managers to ensure consistent execution of global strategies.
• Establish category performance metrics and monitor KPIs for cost savings, supplier performance, service levels, innovation, and risk.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across procurement processes and collaboration.
