Job summary

QC Capital and Affiliated Companies seeks an experienced General Counsel to act as the primary legal advisor to the CEO and executive team. This role will oversee corporate governance, transactional matters, and regulatory compliance across multiple entities and industries.

The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of corporate law experience, a J.D., and an active North Carolina license, with a proven ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and to manage outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in North Carolina or ability to obtain admission.
• 5-10 years of experience in corporate law, business law, or in-house legal practice.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating sophisticated commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, employment law, contract law, business transactions, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience advising executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief legal advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
• Participate in executive leadership meetings to provide legal guidance regarding strategic initiatives and business operations.
• Evaluate legal risks associated with corporate decisions while providing practical, business-focused solutions.
• Advise leadership regarding organizational growth, operational expansion, investments, financing, and risk management.
• Develop legal strategies that support long-term business objectives while protecting company assets.
• Maintain corporate governance across QC Capital and all affiliated companies.
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other restructurings.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on complex regulatory matters and litigation management.
