Job summary

The role reports to the Group Legal & Compliance Director and involves advising on regulatory matters, drafting complex contracts, and guiding litigation and budget planning. The successful candidate will have bar certification, extensive corporate legal experience, and fluency in French plus another foreign language.

Qualifications

• Bar exam and legal privilege certification required.
• Significant experience in a similar corporate role required.
• Proficiency in or ongoing study of French and another foreign language.

Responsibilities

• Advise company management on all legal matters, especially regulatory and case law developments.
• Ensure compliance with corporate law and governance requirements.
• Draft and approve complex legal documents and contracts (purchase, sales, mergers).
• Ensure implementation of regulatory requirements (anti-bribery, competition law).
• Lead strategy for pre-litigation and litigation; assist in negotiations with third parties and represent the company in court with outside counsel as needed.
• Supervise a team of legal professionals; set objectives; support career development and evaluations.
• Select and oversee assignments of attorneys and external counsel; monitor deadlines and budgets.
• Present the Legal Department’s annual budget and projections for the following year.
