Job summary

HomeAid National Capital Region is seeking an experienced Events Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of key fundraising events, including an annual Gala & Auction, as well as other programs. The role emphasizes event management, volunteer coordination, and collaboration with the VP of Fundraising and Communications.

You will oversee budgets, procurement, marketing, and post-event reporting while supporting multiple events throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience with a nonprofit organization in fundraising, marketing, and special events.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Highly organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with attention to detail.
• Comfortable with delegation and working with volunteers.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills; concise and effective.

Responsibilities

• Manage full production and planning of annual Gala & Auction events, including committee administration, procurement, volunteers, on-site support, and post-event marketing and financial reconciliations.
• Plan and organize other annual events (BBQ, Golf Tournament, Top Golf) including volunteer recruitment and on-site activities.
• Coordinate staff volunteers and logistics for third-party events.
• Create and maintain event reports (Registration, Sponsorships, Procurement, advertising).
• Manage event budgets as part of the organizational budget and apply metrics to outcomes.
