Job summary

Beacon of Light is seeking a Development Manager to support its fundraising and development initiatives. The role focuses on expanding the donor base, cultivating existing donors, and supporting ongoing operations and future investments in all Beacon of Light programming.

The position requires 3–5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong relationship-building skills. Collaboration with leadership and the board is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in non-profit fundraising or related grant-making activities.
• Excellent written and communication skills for donor cultivation, grant writing, and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with donors and partners.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy with the ED and board.
• Identify, engage and steward major gifts and foundation grants.
• Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals.
• Research, apply for, and manage funding from trusts and foundations.
• Coordinate with the St Andrew business office to track donations and use Raiser's Edge.
• Create annual calendar of fundraising events and communications.
• Develop donor communication tools.
