Job summary

The Redford Center, a nonprofit focused on environmental storytelling, is seeking a Director of Development in San Francisco to lead fundraising strategy, major gifts, and donor communications. The role oversees a small team and collaborates with the Executive Director, Board, and program leadership.

You will manage donor engagement, campaigns, and events while aligning fundraising priorities with organizational goals and program needs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive fundraising and development experience, including leadership of a comprehensive development program and budgeting experience.
• Experience managing multi-channel fundraising (major gifts, institutional giving, events) and a personal donor portfolio.
• Strong collaboration with executive leadership, board, and program staff to drive fundraising and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan with revenue goals.
• Lead long-term fundraising strategy across major gifts, grants, and corporate partnerships.
• Oversee prospect development strategy and donor education initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor a small development team and ensure professional growth.
• Collaborate with program, finance, and communications teams to source stories and impact data.
