Job summary

Standish Management is seeking a Management Company Controller to oversee accounting for the management companies of venture capital and private equity funds across North America. Standish provides fund administration services and technology to help scale fund operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 4+ years of accounting experience, and proficiency with Excel, QuickBooks, and Bill.com.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Four or more years of public and/or private accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Bill.com preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks, Bill.com, expense reporting software, and payroll systems is preferred.
• Previous Alternative Investment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting function for multiple management company clients.
• Onboard new clients and implement preferred system platforms and processes.
• Supervise Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates.
• Manage accounts payable and client expense reporting functions.
• Review journal entries, bank reconciliations and supporting work papers.
• Process and record payroll; provide monthly or quarterly reporting to Management.
• Process 1099s and assist with tax compliance.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed.
• Collaborate with clients to satisfy ad hoc requests and support.
