Job summary

Standish Management, a provider of specialized fund administration services for Managers and General Partners of venture capital and private equity funds, seeks a Management Company Controller to oversee accounting for the management company clients across North America.

The role includes onboarding new clients, supervising Accounting Associates, managing payables and reporting, and assisting with budgeting and tax compliance, delivering strong client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• Public and/or private accounting experience (4+ years).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Bill.com preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience resolving technology issues with IT support.
• Knowledge of payroll, expense reporting, and intercompany processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting function for multiple management company clients.
• Onboard new clients and implement preferred system platforms and processes.
• Supervise Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates.
• Manage accounts payable and client expense reporting functions.
• Review journal entries, bank reconciliations and supporting work papers.
• Process and record payroll.
• Provide monthly or quarterly reporting to Management.
• Process 1099s and assist with federal, state, and local tax compliance.
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
