Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in Boston (hybrid). Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting for a large nonprofit, partnering with CFO, executive leadership, and Board committees.

You will shape KPI reporting, long-range planning, and financial modeling across endowment funds and capital projects, delivering insights to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Experience within a mid-to-large nonprofit organization.
• Familiarity with endowment accounting and restricted/unrestricted funds.
• Strong financial modeling, long-range forecasting, scenario analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience presenting financial information to Boards or governing committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating and capital budgeting, rolling forecasts, and multiyear financial planning.
• Develop complex financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for strategic initiatives.
• Analyze actual performance against budget, forecast and prior-year results to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop KPIs, benchmarking, and reporting tools to strengthen organization-wide decision-making.
• Evaluate financial impact of new programs, exhibitions, capital investments, revenue opportunities, and operational initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO, executive leadership, department heads, and Board committees while leading FP&A staff.
