Job summary

Rakuten International in San Mateo, California seeks a Senior Director, FP&A to lead financial planning and analysis. You will partner with executive leadership and department heads to drive performance and allocate resources effectively.

You will build sophisticated models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, unit economics), prepare reports and KPIs, and guide strategic decisions while developing a high‑performing team. Applicants should have 10+ years FP&A and MBA/CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of FP&A experience with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of annual budgeting, long‑range planning, and monthly forecasts.
• Provide financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to executives.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, ROI).
• Oversee financial reporting, dashboards, and KPIs for the leadership team.
• Drive cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and process improvements.
• Manage sales compensation analysis and collaborate with Sales leadership on incentives.
