Job summary

AspenTech in Bedford, MA is seeking a Director of FP&A to partner with executives, oversee financial planning and analysis, and drive long-term financial strategy. This role reports to the VP FP&A and will own budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement across the organization.

The position emphasizes strong financial modeling skills, operational understanding, and leadership to elevate FP&A capabilities with cross-functional impact.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• MBA highly valued; CPA and/or CFA qualification a plus.
• 5+ years of experience including financial projections and business modeling.
• Experience translating business operations into financially consistent models.
• Strong organization skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to the VP FP&A and collaborate with the executive team.
• Partner with business leaders to evaluate initiatives and incorporate financial impacts into plans.
• Maintain long-term financial projection models (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Direct process and system changes to capture, analyze, and report revenue and non-GAAP measures.
• Prepare insightful numerical and graphical analyses of variances to budget and forecast.
• Coordinate Board/Presidents’ Councils materials and required schedules.
• Mentor FP&A team members and help set the group’s strategic direction.
• Design and produce ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
