Job summary

Horizon Media in New York seeks a Director, Finance Business Manager - MX to act as the financial partner for MX, driving planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making across finance, accounting, procurement and shared services.

You will lead forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and long-range planning; build models, dashboards, and reports; partner with MX leadership to enable growth while ensuring GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA, MBA or other advanced financial certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance, controllership, business finance or related financial leadership roles.
• Experience supporting media, advertising, principal trading, barter or other complex transaction-based business models highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning processes for MX.
• Monitor business performance against revenue, profitability, and operational targets by analyzing actual results against budget and forecast.
• Develop complex financial and analytical models to evaluate revenue performance, client profitability, strategic investments and new business opportunities.
• Partner with MX leadership to support business planning, growth initiatives and enterprise decision-making.
• Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards and management reporting to provide transparency into business performance.
• Present financial results, key business insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across cross-functional teams.
• Serve as a strategic advisor on complex MX transactions and profitability opportunities.
• Analyze deal-level and client-level profitability to identify opportunities to improve financial performance and efficiency.
