Job summary

Performance Food Group seeks a purchasing professional to source suppliers and negotiate terms to ensure high-quality product supply at competitive prices for its foodservice distribution network.

You will maintain supplier relationships, select products, and negotiate contracts and pricing based on customer orders and market conditions, while supporting emergency distribution needs and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1 - 2 years purchasing or related area.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, supply chain or related area.
• 2 - 4 years purchasing or related area within foodservice industry.

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based on ability to provide continuous supply, service level and market understanding.
• Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving invoicing, product, or delivery issues.
• Select products based on market fit, performance, and vendor reputation.
• Negotiate prices and quantities based on orders, volume and market conditions.
• Negotiate long-term contracts for continuous supply.
• Support distribution centers for emergency situations with timely product delivery.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and advise on pricing structures.
• Purchase Center of the Plate items such as beef, chicken, pork, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
