Job summary

You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Fleet Comptroller Directorate of Commander U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA. The role emphasizes rigorous financial analysis, budgeting, and compliance to support resource allocation and reporting with DoD standards.

Responsibilities include conducting cost-benefit analyses, evaluating funding strategies, and ensuring alignment with fiscal laws and auditing requirements. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience participating in the formulation and preparation of multi-year budget submissions.
• Experience analyzing financial data and forecasting program execution.
• Experience monitoring and tracking daily financial transactions.
• Experience conducting standard variance analyses and drafting reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex financial and program analyses to evaluate costs, benefits, risks, and alternative methods for managing programs and administrative operations.
• Perform comprehensive financial studies, including cost-benefit analyses and evaluations of alternative funding strategies.
• Apply accounting, internal control, and financial reporting principles to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Examine fiscal laws and regulations and provide interpretations to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Support internal and external audits by reconciling data and validating transactions.
• Recommend improvements to reporting systems to enhance transparency and accountability.
