Job summary

Encompass Health, a leading inpatient rehabilitation provider, seeks a Financial Controller to lead the hospital's finance team and drive performance aligned with corporate objectives.

The successful candidate will oversee all accounting processes, ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum five years of hospital accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles and healthcare operations.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, revenue analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience establishing and executing robust internal control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting processes and financial operations for the hospital, including billing, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, and audits.
• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, and state financial reporting.
• Develop and implement plans to enhance operational efficiency as requested by hospital leadership and corporate office.
• Participate in governing committees and boards as needed.
• Monitor compliance with Medicare regulations and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Celebrate team successes and milestones regularly.
