Job summary

Encompass Health, the nation’s largest inpatient rehabilitation company, seeks a Controller to lead the accounting and financial team at our hospital. You’ll oversee billing, A/R, payroll, budgeting, internal controls, and audits to drive financial performance.

You’ll partner with hospital leadership to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance with Medicare regulations, and implement robust control environments using cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum five years hospital accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of financial management and analysis principles.
• Experience in budgeting and internal controls.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Healthcare regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the hospital's accounting system and financial operations, including billing, A/R, cash receipts, collections, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and audits.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reviews, budgets, and state financial reports.
• Develop and implement plans to improve operational efficiency as directed by leadership.
• Participate in hospital Governing Body committees and partnership boards as needed.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with Medicare regulations.
• Celebrate team achievements and foster a collaborative environment.
