Job summary

McCarthy Services in Springfield, VA is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of our service centers. This role will partner with the General Manager and department leaders to improve financial performance and strengthen internal controls.

The Controller will oversee budgets, forecasts, and inventory controls, provide reporting and analyses, and manage the local accounting team to support growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of progressive general-accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ERP/accounting systems (JD Edwards a plus).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial-control activities for the service center.
• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders on financial planning and improvement initiatives.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and inventory controls.
• Provide financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost-reduction recommendations.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and the accounting team.
